From an early age, I remember taking art classes and being amazed by artists’ life stories, techniques and styles they used, and meaning conveyed in their artwork. Their experiences in life and creativity moved them to express themselves through their art. Even though I appreciated art, I never considered making my own, until later in life.
I have spent a large portion of my working career in construction trades, because I am drawn to making things with my hands. But, as much as I enjoy the construction field, I realized I wanted to create things that were more personal and expressive. Hence, I started making pieces of art and furniture.
In my studio, I use my hands and tools, and turn basic materials into creative works. The art of imagination is the only other thing I need. My goal is to create a piece that evokes emotion.
The Creative Process
My process starts with devoting a lot of time envisioning and planning my pieces, such as, to the design, colors, textures, effects, and finishes. This lends to a piece that is imaginative and aesthetically appealing.
Next, the most gratifying part of the process is putting my vision into action.
Before I begin painting, many of my pieces are created with wood as my base or substrate, often in the form of a wood panel, which I build myself. I am drawn to using wood, because it’s stable, durable, and can be used to construct a limitless array of things. After my base is constructed, each piece is layered with a palette of paint colors to produce the desired end result. The rich blend of colors draws the eye and creates emotion. Most of my pieces are then finished with a clear coat, which protects the piece and accentuates the colors.
I take CUSTOM ORDERS for those who would like a specific piece. You may let me know your thoughts on size, design, colors, textures, effects, and finishes, and I will conceptualize them. I am available for large commercial pieces, as well as custom home pieces.
I take great pride in my pieces and release only high quality. So, please buy with confidence.
Much of my artwork is considered to be modern, contemporary, and abstract. I strive to create a piece that makes your emotions come to life each day.
Art and furniture make a home our own personal style. I believe they can also reflect who we are as a person. So why not choose pieces that reflect our persona and make us feel at home?
I look forward to making you an original artwork or piece of furniture, which you can proudly display and admire with your friends and family.
